French paratroopers overthrew the government of Jean Bindel Bokassa in Central Africa Republic (CAR) in 1979.

France funded separatist rebels on the sovereign country known as the Comorros Islands, forcing neighbouring Senegal and other countries to send their military forces to put down the French-backed rebellion in 2006.

French troops in columns of armoured vehicles and tanks humiliated and removed Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo from office in April 2011.

Also in 2011, France angered all 54 countries in Africa by joining in the NATO overthrow of Libyan strongman, Colonel Muammar Ghaddafi. In the French-speaking parts of West Africa, the anger...

Lavrov to Putin:
"- I am too getting old. I too want a promotion, like shogun did."

Putin:
"- How? How would it be possible for me or anyone to promote you? You are already on top of the world! You are the Talleyrand saving France after its total defeat, but 200 years later here. The only promotion I can think of is making you The Czar, if you want, and I'll grant you that. But that's not exatly a retirement position."

Lavrov:
"- Oh, I'm just so tired of dealing with these 360 degrees idiots. I just want to retire to my Siberian dachia. Growing carrots or some more intelligent vegetable like that which I could better relate to intellectually."

Putin:
"- No, your curse is that you are too good to be replaced. You're a slave of Russia and you'll do what you do until God calls upon your soul. If he ever dares to."
