The penny finally drops around the banking powers drive to do away with them, cash the pounds as well as the pennies, to consign them to history.
Sometimes it takes me a while to consider the obvious, the in your face obvious. So if like me this is a 'duh' moment or you can give yourself a slap on the back for being a whole lot smarter than me for figuring this out a while ago, please indulge me whilst I get the thought of my chest.
The cacophony of outrage about stopping cash has been around control the banks, private companies, will have to dictate how, where and when we spend our money. Like fake ERG scoring, political posturing an internal banking group will decide who becomes a non person, financially crippled, actions currently in place as exposed by the Nigel Farage Coutts / Nat West scandal.
What if the din about financial control over our lives is just a convenient distraction, or just a bonus around their true agenda, albeit they are already implementing their own rules. Is it about profit?
Account closures private or business the excuse, regardless of which one, is always the same. Don't blame us, it's the fault of regulations around money laundering. It's the legislators fault. It's not as if the bailed out from bust banks and government are not hand in glove.
Here's the rub and for me the penny drop. For every one Farage (unacceptable person) account closure their seems to be a thousand closures for business and individuals dealing in cash.
Every business knows the banks make money on their turnover, 3% on every card transaction, which by enlarge business large and small pass on to the customer. No such surcharge on cash, simply the fees for having a business account.
Imagine banking profits and the scale of bankers bonuses if they can make 3% on every purchase on the planet. Is the cashless society really all about money, technology enabling the banks to maximise profit?
Digital currency sold as convenience they will tell us that there will be no fees involved. Fees may not come at the start, but when they have created a no options world, we will see the fees placed, invisible charges.
The plan, is it really to make money on every single commercial transaction on the planet? A 3% bank tax on everything from a chocolate bar to a car.
That's why they want to lose cash - for there is more money to be made if digital currency is the only option.
A cashless society is a plan for the biggest profits ever devised by any commercial organisation.
