Although I am not optimistic about the American elections in November as it appears none of the major candidates is apt to free American foreign policy from neocon control, I take some consolation in the belief that some solace may be taken in the upcoming elections for the European parliament in Strasbourg.
Reason: It is the only way at this time that the citizens in many EU countries can express their disdain for the policies of their unpopular leaders e.g. Macron, Scholz et.al..
Up to now, we've only heard political dissension from two courageous Irish delegates, Clare Daly and Mick Wallace. They need support and they're apt to get it. So far, the EU has insulated itself from a severe reaction to its economic decline by issuing eurobonds to cushion the downturn, but it's still likely to lead the dollar towards an inevitable slippery slope downward in a multi-polar global economy while the world awaits some "black swan event" somewhere on the calendar of 2024.
