Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and a government delegation made the first official visit in the history of bilateral relations to the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, where they held talks with President Sadyr Japarov on Friday, June 12.

The Georgian delegation's visit included an introduction to Kyrgyzstan's multifaceted historical and cultural heritage.

The summit's business agenda was no less extensive: the Transcaucasian and Central Asian republics signed a substantial package of bilateral documents, ushering in a new stage of integration cooperation. Key agreements cover transportation, customs regulation, mutual legal assistance, education, and radiation safety, according to news agencies in the Caucasus and Central Asia.

The agreements signed during the Kyrgyz-Georgian summit are expected to take the partnership and relations between the two countries to a new level, noted the Georgian Prime Minister and the Kyrgyz President.
