The war drums around Iran are beating again even as the EU continues its economic suicide. Gold surges and the dollar falls. Consumer confidence in the US in January according to Bloomberg in the US tanks to a 12 year low. Trump's popularity falls in line with the bad household data even as he faces criticism over the events in Minneapolis. The Kurds in Syria, the US's erstwhile allies and friends, to Senator Graham's horror, are slaughtered by Jolani's jihadi legions, once nurtured by the US with the enthusiastic support of Senator Graham, even as Jolani himself - or should we call him "President Al-Sharaa" ? - flies to Moscow for another 'working meeting' with Vladimir Putin. Starmer goes to China even as his political position at home implodes. And Ukraine continues to crumble even as the meeting in Abu Dhabi achieves nothing. And of course there is that small unresolved business in Greenland (remember that?).

Obviously no shortage of things to discuss....

ONE MAN FOR THE WHOLE VILLAGE!
(A true story)
He appeared in the village early in the spring, when the snow hadn't completely melted yet and the mud clung to his boots, as if it wouldn't let go. Tall, broad-shouldered, wearing a worn shirt, with such a calm gaze that at first people couldn't even tell whether he was a disaster or a salvation.

His name was Ivan.

There were almost no men left in the village then. The war had trampled through lives like a heavy boot: some it took forever, some it crippled, some it broke so that they could never return. Only the women remained. Young, mere girls. Widows. Pregnant women. With children in their arms and emptiness in their eyes.

And so—the only man in the entire village.

At first, they looked at him warily. Women whispered by the well, old women crossed themselves, children hid behind their mothers' robes. And he simply worked. Silently. From morning until night.

He fixed Pelageya's roof—she had three children; her husband had died. Then he helped Natalya—she was about to give birth, but the house was cold. Then more, and more. Where he'd chop wood, where he'd build a stove, where...

A quick commentary on the "Piss Summit"

My Fellow Duranianss.

Yes, it's happened again. I have been assaulted by a vicious Malware Bot Virus or whatever 911 Socks is and this thing is bad !

However I wanted to give you a "peace" of my mind concerning the "Piece" or piss, as Elensky calls it, as this thing fell to pieces before it even happened.

Coincidentally on the very SAME DAY this crap happened Saudi Arabia DROPPED the US Petrodollar as a buying currency and NO ONE absolutely NO ONE is talking about this fact anywhere !!!
