Yemeni Forces Strike Israeli-Linked Ships in Support of Palestine

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson said on Thursday that the army's naval, air, and missile units have initiated strikes on three vessels associated with the Israeli regime, as part of a maritime operation in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for Yemen's Armed Forces, disclosed in a televised address that the Yemeni forces had engaged two ships, MSC DIEGO and MSC GINA, situated in the Gulf of Aden, utilizing a combination of ballistic missiles and drones.
Moreover, he revealed that the vessel MSC VITTORIA was targeted twice, once in the Indian Ocean and subsequently in the Arabian Sea.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces are following developments… in the Gaza Strip and will not hesitate to escalate their military operations in the face of the oppression against the Palestinian people,” Saree affirmed.
He reaffirmed the commitment of Yemeni forces to obstruct Israeli maritime operations until the occupying regime terminates its aggression against Gaza and lifts the siege of the Palestinian enclave.
The Israeli regime launched a genocidal offensive on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, backed by the United States, following a significant operation by a Palestinian resistance group against the occupying entity.
The Tel Aviv regime has claimed the lives of at least 34,844 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and inflicted injuries upon 78,404 others.
In solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, the Yemeni forces have targeted vessels traveling to and from the ports in the occupied territories, or associated with Israeli interests, across the southern Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb Strait, Gulf of Aden, and even in the Arabian Sea.
Recently, the Yemeni forces announced intentions to extend their pro-Palestinian naval operations to the Mediterranean Sea.
In response to these actions, the US and its allies have conducted airstrikes on Yemen, infringing upon the country's sovereignty and contravening international law.
