FYI A response to my British (English) friend who is bemoaning my position on the Ukraine war:
'Well, Russia is not a monolith, and neither is the Ukraine. There is a long history between the two that many are not aware of, especially in the collective west.
And Russia is about far more than Vladimir Putin... just as the UK is about far more than Keir Starmer or Nigel Farage.
As for the Ukraine (note: the) and without getting into tremendous detail, I can guarantee you or anyone who will listen, that the Russian leadership (and people) are not interested in any territory beyond the Donbas region and Kherson (possible exception Odesa) but are most concerned about the indivisible security of the region.
That security has been threatened by the West since the end of WW2 and actively beginning in 1949, with (MI6) Operation Valuable and (OSS/CIA) Project BG/FIEND QR/PLUMB AERODYNAMIC and many other covert (and overt) western attempts to fragment and destroy not just the the USSR, but also Russia, which followed.
But I suspect hatred by the perfidious Albion for Russia and its people dates back to Britain's own Crimean war, and the disaster suffered then and there, and maybe with some royal incest or such like that Blighty has not quite ever recovered from...? :)
After all, it's funny. During all the years I lived in the UK -- illegally by the way -- I had no idea that so much deep and abject hatred existed for the people and government of Russia. Man, was I blind.
Anecdotal, but for a time during the 1980's I subscribed to Sputnik magazine -- which was by mail in those days of course -- and surprisingly since the initiation of my subscription, I discovered that my personal letter mail was being opened by someone (or some entity) and being looked at. That letter mail surveillance was quite subtle and took a while for me to ascertain, but was a definite and not just a matter of personal paranoia.
Again it's amusing. I did not think much of that old history until Boris Johnson traveled to Kiev on April 9th, 2022, to force the Neocon US/UK agenda that there will be no peace in the world going forward. https://europeanconservative.com/articles/news/official-johnson-forced-kyiv-to-refuse-russian-peace-deal/
And that is of course why BoJo could not stand-in for an equally compromised Rishi Sunak, in the recent joke of an UK election. But I am covering old ground. The UK election was essentially a sham, at least equal to the sham elections we ceremoniously and hypocritically stage here in the failed/ former United States.
Sorry to take this position. But as with so many issues forced upon us by our panicked rulers and masters these days, there is no common ground.
I will however assure you that Russia is doing fine economically, and has one of the strongest surging economies in Europe and Asia. https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-economy-growth-defense-spending-ukraine-sanctions/32809703.html (and look at the source RFERL !! lol)
An unsung hero of the above is Elvira Nabiullina who has steered Russia's economy through very turbulent waters, made so by the west - not by anyone else.
Again. I'm sorry we disagree but guarantee you that however we feel about the Ukraine war, that is actually irrelevant, and the Kiev regime is not going to prevail whether rightly or wrongly. That is rendered so by my decree.
:)
