My main take away is that Iran's destruction of (all??) large stationary long wavelength radars in the Middle East has taken away the second layer, the middle layer, in USA's three layer air defense missile detection system.

The first layer being satellites that observe launches of any rockets by their hot exhausts. Including heavy drones that use rocket launch engines if even only for a few seconds. But they cannot determine the direction of the launch, only from where it takes place (and exactly so).

The second layer being these large stationary radars (now destroyed) that cover large airspaces and can find individual missiles on their way. They can determine the missiles' directions to a certain precision "but can't tell if they are heading for Tel Aviv or Haifa".
