Not sure if anyone is really following the whole OMV Vs Gazprom saga, but it's worth checking out just for a laugh. In a nutshell, after Nord Stream was attacked, and the eu started imposing sanctions on Russia, including ones which effected the ability of eu companies to buy Russian gas, supplies of gas from Gazprom to Austria's OMV were slowed, and for several days halted. Pretty standard stuff one would think, and certainly justification for a Force Majoure event.

But, given the fact that arbitration takes place at the Paris based ICC, Gazprom has been penalised and has to pay OMV 230 million euro in compensation. So, they have notified Gazprom that they won't be paying any more for gas and intend to offset the award against invoices for gas supplied to OMV by Gazprom. So, as one would, Gazprom cut the gas to OMV.

Now, everyone is freaking out because the same level of gas is still being sent into Europe, just not to OMV, as Gazprom has plenty of other buyers who will buy the extra gas that is now not going to OMV. So, OMV now has to pay a higher price to buy the same Russian gas off other resellers, and in fact Gazprom gets a better price for its gas, as gas prices have risen 7 percent on the fear in the market that the dispute will further interrupt supplies.

Talk about a bunch of stupid fuckers. Every time the EU, or the West in general do something, they are buggering themselves in the arse. It's funny to watch, but incredibly worrying. If these morons are this stupid, they could very easily walk us into a global nuclear war. Thank God President Putin is in charge in Russia, and Xi Xiping in China, as the only two adults in the room, they are all that stands between us and Armageddon.
