May 2 : I always wondered about the choice of the Ukrozazis horrible treachery in Odessa back in 2014, and I'm embarrassed to say it did take me a while to see the contextual connection of the Nazis not accepting their having been defeated. A date that was always associated, for me, with beauty and some sorrow (my grandmother, whom my dear mother lost when she was 5, had her birthday also on this day). Such a powerfully beautiful day, when the Red Army hoisted the flag over the Reichstag; then the anguish seeing what was done all those years later in Odessa via some low-life's vindictiveness.
