I have two big dogs, that are my daily joy. I know others in the Duran think a great deal about their pets too. So I’m mentioning something that is worth being vigilant about and it’s regarding what’s put into dog food. I don’t feed processed foods to mine but many do and I’m not judging anyone for choices but with what’s being going on with Trump’s Argentinian meat deal, that maybe a poison poke of returned meat from China, which is something no one wants.
The cattleman’s association is rightly up in arms about it, as should consumers, but where does it go if retailers don’t take it because consumers don’t want it? From past scandals, including the UK horse meat scandal of 2013, it gets processed into cheap burgers and pet food. The latter having far fewer regulations.
Added to the US’s current wild horse cull which is being offered into the food chain, it’s not about saying don’t, it’s about the right to know and the right to choose for you and your pet.
