Dnipro, Wednesday morning, 12 March
Huge night last night, around 11pm for an hour drones and rockets rained down on Dnipro not too far away. I suspect the target was a a large fuel dump but i counted at least 11 big explosions. I imagine after the terrorist attack on Moscow that the whole country would have felt it last night.
Travelling around lately there has been a huge drop in military supply trucks, I can't actually recall anything other than fuel tankers in the past couple of weeks.
All talk here is on ceasefire, and I have done all i can to dampen hope on the matter, as Trump is completely deluded if he expects Russia to agree to a ceasefire without all its conditions met. In fact, I think Trump has fallen into his own trap here, as Russia will most certainly only agree a ceasefire if all Ukrainian forces leave its land, all of the annexed regions, accept them as Russia, and commit to not join nato, reduce its military size and reverse the anti Russian laws and discrimination at the very least.
Ukraine won't agree, so Trump by his own admission will need to resume the supply of weapons and aid to Ukraine, proving Zelenksy again outsmarted a usa president. In fact, this time Zelenksy will get billions and billions of dollars and won't even need to fly to Washington.
Trump is a fool. Anyhow, tbh, a ceasefire isn't how this war must end, even i can see the damage that has been done to Ukraine's culture, its people and the way the slavs / galicians live together now, and a ceasefire won't fix that. Ukraine to be made whole again must come under full Russian control, at the very least politically and economically. So, we go forward.
Rubio, Kellog, Trump etc are dumb, and will have emboldened the eu and Ukraine, and given them far greater opportunity to accuse Trump of weakness and appeasement, and blame him for the impending collapse of Ukraine. Wytkoff is not, so let's hope he is smart enough to find a way to keep the heat on Ukraine, and the blame for the inability to agree a ceasefire on russias terms, as we are in a different position now. Rubio let the genie out of the bottle when he declared this a usa proxy war. A return to supplying weapons and intelligence now has a much greater significance as a result of that statement.
Anyhow, thanks for reading this far, geopolitics is the Alexanders job, but I have been watching the last week and it was so obvious Trump was walking into his own trap. And I had to say it.
Weather is warming up, minimums are plus now, some days we getting 15-20 maximums which are lovely.
Some shortages of gas (as in lng) at service stations petrol and diesel no issues.
Actually, the uah has strengthened against the usd a little, kind of poetic really when one considers the dumpster fire that is the usa economy....
