On the current state of negotiations around Ukraine I must yet again remind everyone about an old Russian joke (or rather Jewish one from Odessa):

Matchmaker bursts into the house of shoemaker Mendel.
"Mendel, rejoice! I've come to arrange for your daughter, Riva, to marry Count Potocky."
"Give my daughter to a Christian? Impossible!"
"Well, Mendel, think about it! Count Potocky is an aristocrat, a millionaire, while you're just a poor simple shoemaker..."
"Yes, I understand... But to a Christian, impossible!"
Several hours pass, and an exhausted matchmaker stumbles out of the house.
"Well, thank God! Persuaded him at last. Half the job is done. It's just to persuade Count Potocky now."

В дом сапожника Менделя врывается шадхен (сват).
-Мендель, радуйся! Я пришел сватать твою дочь Риву за графа Потоцкого.
-За христианина?! Ни за что!
-Ну, Мендель, подумай! Граф Потоцкий - аристократ, миллионер, а ты все-таки простой сапожник...
-Да я понимаю... но за христианина - ни за что!
Проходит несколько часов, из дома вываливается измученный шадхен.
-Ну, слава Богу! Уговорил. Полдела сделано. Пойду теперь уговаривать графа Потоцкого.

More evidence of the “Inconvenient Study”

Why do we trust the political class?
We keep paying into the system – taxes, mortgages, tuition, patience – not because it works, but because admitting it doesn’t would mean confronting our own gullibility. This is the great national pastime: auditing our disappointment. Every cost-of-living crisis, every strike, every scandal is just another interest payment on our collective refusal to default on belief.
The same people who sold the gold now sell advice on inequality; the ones who deregulated finance now advocate for ethical capitalism.
Still, there’s comfort in the absurdity. Britain may be broke, but it’s beautifully, comically broke – a nation so polite it queues for its own decline.

A quick commentary on the "Piss Summit"
I might not be able to upload much more or do lives for a while

My Fellow Duranianss.

Yes, it's happened again. I have been assaulted by a vicious Malware Bot Virus or whatever 911 Socks is and this thing is bad ! 

However I wanted to give you a "peace" of my mind concerning the "Piece" or piss, as Elensky calls it, as this thing fell to pieces before it even happened.

Coincidentally on the very SAME DAY  this crap happened Saudi Arabia DROPPED the US Petrodollar as a buying currency and NO ONE absolutely NO ONE is talking about this fact anywhere !!!
