As I am sure most of you know I am currently in the United States attending the wonderful Integrity In Media in Chicago.

Unfortunately that means that I do not have the time to do our weekly Live Stream today.

If I can reschedule for some other day I will let everyone know but I have to say that for the moment I think that is unlikely.

Trump's effort to establish US dominance in Venezuela has only exposed the weakness of a dying empire. It cannot dominate the major countries in Asia, China, Russia, India and Iran, it cannot even dominate countries in its own hemisphere, and the whole world sees it. A multipolar world is rapidly emerging. As a socialist myself, I call it a socialist world not dominated by an imperial power, a world I have looked forward to since childhood. For me this is vindication. Now, I love the United States where I was born and raised, and I am hoping to see its transformation into a socialist country "with American characteristics" as the Chinese would say, which would mark the end of the old imperial paradigm in the world and the beginning of a new phase of human social evolution. The Trump administration represents the final death struggle of imperialism. What we need now is a real socialist movement and leadership to emerge in the United States.
