Dnipro, 26 March, Dnipro, Morning
I returned yesterday from a trip west, just wanted to confirm what I saw. Many more flags in cemeteries I pass every time I drive. Was slowed by 2 funeral processions, so casualties still continuing high.
A lot of military transport, some big supply columns, and a lot of soldiers heading to the front. More than I have seen in a while, a lot of trucks transporting apv, a few carrying strykers and Bradley's. It looks to me like a huge push to get as much equipment in as possible. I counted one convoy under police escort with 17 trucks. This makes a mockery of all the talk of peace in my mind.
Was several big convoys of buses full of soldiers heading to the front. One service station I stopped at had around 150 soldiers milling around talking, a largish number speaking English with very English accents. They were youngish, and looked fit. I was in a rush as we were taking a family to the border so had a train to catch, so did not talk to them, but if they were volunteers, they were well trained as they had a clear military gait to me.
Like most people here we are watching the discussions between the usa and russia closely, news locally is very anti American, but people's sentiment is very anti Zelenksy. Some sporadic protests around town these days, most protesting about lost family members. There are whole battalions missing and unaccounted for. When you see the number of flags in cemeteries, and memorials in towns and villages as you go through, you must also remember for every 1 confirmed dead, there are several simply listed as missing....
