My voice is still not 100% but it is back and I am looking forward to our Live Stream today.
A lot has happened since we last spoke, with the Russians standing firm in the talks with the US, Trump letting off steam and making threats (nothing new there), Russian-Chinese talks, and 'Liberation Day' - ie. the new tariffs - about to come. Also Iran has told the US that whilst it is not prepared to engage the US in direct talks, it would be prepared to do so through a mediator, which presumably is Russia.
Meanwhile the recession clouds darken, Merz and the CDU are seeing their support slip as the AfD continues to rise, the UK continues its descent, and the Macron-EU Centre, aware of its deep unpopularity, turns to lawfare. In my opinion, in France, Le Pen's conviction is only the beginning. Many more prosecutions are in the pipeline and I firmly expect an eventual attempt to have Le Pen's RN completely banned.
So much to discuss. The clocks have now changed in Europe so we are back to 19:00 London time.
