One of our distributors in the USA just got the first import duty tariff on one of our shipments into the usa from our factory in Guangdong. Total tariff and clearance charges (as now dhl must get involved) amounted to 44 percent of the value of the shipment. The shipment left 4 days ago, before the tarriffs came into effect. The distributor emailed to ask me to pay it, and we noted that as the importer, of course it's levied to him as he can see on the tax invoice from DHL.

In fact, we wrote to all of our distributors last week reminding them all that any tariffs imposed by a government are paid by the importer, not the exporter who sends the goods, something that every company in the world would note in their terms and conditions.

He's always been a very big, and quite loud Trump supporter..... maybe less so now....
