❗️Chairman of the Russian State Duma Volodin:
"I have sent an appeal to the President of the Bundestag and to the leaders of five political factions in the German parliament in connection with the statements made by Friedrich Merz during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
When speaking about the outcome of World War II, Merz took the liberty of distorting history — conveniently forgetting who actually liberated the world from Nazism.
It was the Soviet people — a multiethnic nation — who bore that burden, paying an immense price of 27 million lives.
Merz should be invited to the Bundestag to refresh his memory — and to read what’s written on the walls of the Reichstag, and in which language.
His remarks in support of the Kiev regime — which has morphed into a terrorist organization attacking peaceful civilians in Russia — sounded especially cynical.
The German people should know: Zelensky’s neo-Nazi regime is targeting peaceful cities.
Germany’s current political elite is laying the groundwork for escalation and provoking confrontation between our nations.
❓But is this what the German people want? That is the question.
We do not.
But if it comes to that — we are ready."
