There's at least 18 large US military logistical / refueling aircraft that have now arrived in Portugal - 12 having become stationed plus 6 or so hovering the Portuguese military air field / Lages base (some just call it base # 4).

The issue is being argued, and questioned if this was for so-called more simple NATO excercises (which no one really believes) or intended for the middle east amidst the (let us call it "tension" for the moment).. tension.

I must add that years ago the US presence in our Lages military base had been thankfully, very significantly downgraded and downsized.

So, the issue is being argued, and the Portuguese traditional Left (communist party) plus the centrist slightly left Portuguese Socialist Party (habitually Government or habitual main opposition party, now tied in such position wirh the more hard core globalist new Chega.. (Chega are the ones that are fine not only just backing Ukraine to the utmost degree, but also Nathanyahu as well b t w, but I digress).

So, concerns are being argued by the PS and the PC against the government PPD/PSD centrist slightly right coalition with the extinct right wing CDS. Though Chega are more quiet than church mice on this matter, the other opposition parties I mentioned want answers as to why, and if the government allowed it or if they ignore such US military movement & deployment.

The report I bring you (and very briefly summarise) is from yesterday, but the matter has been on the table being argued since last Wednesday.

The US personnel having no US infrastructure for their lodging are using Civilian pavilions for lodgings..

Many of the population are reporting the occurance, as even (I'm suprised I must add) common msn reports on it too.
