A POSSIBLE SCENARIO:

After listening to Pepe Escobar's account of Putin's contacts with Iran's top security chief, I am inclined to put the chances of an Iran strike at 70% or higher. The Nov 9 date may be subject to an earlier( or later) attack but I see no reason to doubt Pepe's consistently reliable sources.
Of course, the convoluted mind of Donald Trump is never entirely predictable but it seems Hegseth and Gen. Keane have already been set up as his sacrificial goats. So, let's say it happens and try to foresee some of the dire consequences.
The extent of the devastation is difficult to predict but I think we can expect retaliation would be extensive, including in Israel as well as among its recalcitrant Gulf allies.
The reaction of congress is critical. Would Trump's supporters try to disassociate themselves from his recklessness, or would there be cries to double down or possibly even attack Russia or China as accessories to an enemy.
