Dnipro, 13 August 2025, Morning
It's been quiet in Dnipro since Taco Don announced his meeting with Putin, only the odd drone strike, mostly in the regions. Unlike in the eu and Bankova Street there is no panic here about the meeting in Alaska, everyone wants this over, no matter what is agreed. All anger is directed at the TCC officers and Kiev junta. We were returning home yesterday and drove right into a confrontation between a group of TCC cowards who were trying to enter a vehicle service centre and it was turning very ugly. Our security in the lead car pushed directly through the group to break them up and I followed close behind as I had the twins in the car and didn't want to get involved or in the cross fire so I drove on home, but our security stopped and later told us the TCC officers were badly beaten up. TCC officers in an area are always from another region, these were from Lvov. That story is now very common. TCC officers are mostly powerless without police, it is the police who have the authority to stop and detain, TCC don't, only to check documents. Without police they are fair game, and there was no police with these men, although there was 5-6 of the TCC guys, but I expect every man in that service centre joined in, and its a big centre, owned by a azerberjaini mafia figure who wields significant influence in Dnipro, deservedly so.
I am a volunteer evac driver and help 2-3 days a week, each time we drive to evacuate wounded troops, it is 10-12 km closer to Dnipro than the previous week. Russian advances are accelerating, and resistence is now very limited. No one wants to die this close to the end, and everyone can see the end is approaching. I am sure there will be many more diplomatic twists, flips and turns, but for the Ukrainian soldiers it's over. If a result is not made on the diplomatic front in the next week, a real collapse on the front lines will see a large group of our soldiers walk away.
Everyone I spoke to is finished, you can flog a dead horse for sure, but there's a point when everyone just looks at you like you are a wanker. Zelensky is toxic amongst everyone here I know, or come across.
A couple of months ago I mentioned in one of my updates, that someone I know in government told me that within a couple of months, everything would change, we are there now. That's the feeling here in ukraine.
