India is one of the so called leaders of the so called global south. They ALL continue to do too little to stop the genocide being committed by the west in Palestine.
Two years is way too long a time to give any of these so called leaders of the so called global south any more benefit of doubt. China, Russia, Brazil, …. they all belong to this list.
I am not talking about starting WW3 to stop the genocide. There are (could have been) plenty of alternatives. Here are just a few ideas:
(a) Stop all trade with this cancerous entity. Some smarty pants have suggested that this would violate international law - cannot believe that such people are considered smart. I am no expert. Every sovereign state can chose to trade or not with any other country
(b) Sever diplomatic relationship
(c) Expel the cancerous entity from the UN. Here again, I am no expert but have heard from Prof Sachs that the UN General Assembly has a process that allows it to take such action. Here the UN Security Council has no veto power.
None of the above efforts have been taken by the so called leaders of the so called global south. Now tell me why I shouldn’t call them
complicit in this genocide?
In fact, the vast majority of governments are complicit now - with a few rare exceptions like Yemen, South Africa, Nicaragua, Iran, etc.
As for India, Modi’s party follows an ethnic/religious supremacist ideology (Hinduthva) with parallels to that of Nazism. India has done the bare minimum in condemning this genocide. Some suggest that India would love to do something similar in Kashmir if it could.
Apologize for pointing out some facts. Two years is way too long to give anyone or any country any more benefit of doubt.
