Today, Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev turns 60. Regardless of the fact that on this special occasion President Putin awarded him the Order “For Services to the Fatherland,” I want to focus on the personal connection I feel toward him.
When you stand on the side of reason yet are constantly surrounded by unreason, hatred and the one-sidedness of Western media, when you live in a NATO-dominated country bound by U.S. dependence and propaganda, Medvedev has always been like a balm for my wounds. He speaks openly what many of us think but never with the reach and effect he has in his role for Russia.
He is not only a sharp-minded logical thinker but also someone with his heart in the right place, a true patriot. His voice on X often fills the gap where other Russian leaders may remain silent. Not daily but at just the right moments, concise, sharp, witty, sometimes sarcastic. Often he makes us smile, often he makes us reflect and quite often he hits doubters straight between the horns to remind them that Russia will pursue its goals with consistency.
Through the jungle of Western lies, narratives and schemes, Medvedev remains a beacon for me. Here’s to Dmitry, may he continue to be with us for many years my friend.
