Dnipro, Friday morning, 10th October
A huge night of air attacks last night in Dnipro and Kiev, started around midnight and still going at around 6 am. Some rockets I haven't heard before too, strange sounding, air defences consisted of 50 mm machine gun fire sporadically, some times none could be heard as we heard the drones going overhead. Secondary explosions meant stockpiles were hit, and some didn't sound that far away. Our two big brave asiat guard dogs spent most of the night cowering outside my window whining... I spent a little time early this morning with our guard watching the fireworks from our terrace over a few shots of vodka, I haven't done that before, it's a pleasant way to watch the fireworks. As the drones come and go you can hear them clearly, and mopeds is a great description. Some were obviously jets, and when the ballistic missiles come in its incredible to think the world is marching towards all out war, and yet I still can't figure out exactly why.
No idea what was struck, but would have been a lot of damage, we didn't see anything shot down and our view over Dnipro is panoramic. Power still surviving atm, although it's off in Kiev, I got alarms around 2 am from our property there saying power was off. Kiev was hit very hard.
Everyone in Ukraine can feel the increase in intensity from the Russian side. Air raids are far more frequent, and far more devastating now.
It's bizarre that no one is suggesting a ceasefire in the air by Ukraine on any Russian territory in exchange for the same from Russia. I think that's a deal Putin would be happy to agree to actually, as the Russians are quickening their advances on the contact lines, knocking out Ukraine's infrastructure isn't needed for them to do that. Our army is seriously undermanned now, everyone can see it. Rotations off the contact line are for no more than 4 days, desertions during that time are frequent, ambulance traffic continues at all time highs, and I have been asked to add a 4th day driving to help out as there is a huge shortage of medivac drivers now. I had to evacuate two soldiers to the west to be sent to Poland for surgery last week, and military traffic coming into Ukraine was almost unnoticeable.
When I look around at the world, it feels like I live in a parralel universe. On the one hand, nato is scared shitless that Russia will attack it, on the other they do everything they can do to ensure it has no choice. They carry on about how weak Russia is, yet they are petrified of it. They fire rockets and missiles into Russian territory daily, killing Russians, but freak out if Russian planes approach Estonian airspace, or if Ukraine fires decoy drones into Polish airspace, something which is completely innocuous. They threaten to shoot down any plane that does approach their airspace, with what one would wonder as they weren't even able to shoot down decoy drones, but it would propel the world into the hot phase of ww3. Their argument is like saying its ok to run over a pedestrian who crosses the road outside of a cross walk.
Trump talks about sending tomahawks, with no way for Ukraine to launch them, so of course it will be the usa attacking Russia, and he does it like its a great idea. So when conventional tomahawks fail, what's next, tomahawks with nuclear warheads?? The usa govt has now been shut down for 9 days, and doesn't look like the impasse will break soon. France has no govt, and Macron, starmer and Merz have approval ratings barely in double digits. The eu is now almost in open revolt, splits are appearing across the block over all sorts of things, and yet support for the illegitimate zelensky regime continues.
The eu talks of stealing Russian assets, and should they do so, which we all know they will, Russia will simply seize the same value of eu assets under its control. The eu will then need to compensate those companies and people from the eu whose assets will have been seized in retaliation, in which case still no money for Ukraine.... And Russia will have got its money back from the seized eu assets.
Not to mention the bankrupting of Euroclear when Russia takes legal action in HK and Singapore where Euroclear has subsidiaries....
How come these idiots can't smell the coffee? It's over, you lost, lick your wounds, focus attention on the west's real enemy, the usa, and hope the Russians turn their backs on Europe and move on which they most definately will do. Europe has nothing more to offer than entertainment value.
Europe needs to understand something which should be obvious to all. Build your drone wall, deploy your soldiers to the frontlines in Ukraine, or Poland, rattle your sabres if it makes you feel better, but know this. If conflict with Russia breaks out, Russian tanks and soldiers won't be rolling into your territory, Russian missiles and rockets will erase your cities from the face of the earth, and it will all be over in a day, well before the usa can even recall congress to see what they should do.
