📅 On October 9, 1942, covered German trucks arrived at a children’s home in Yeysk. Disabled children evacuated earlier from Simferopol were forced inside. Those who tried to resist were beaten and thrown into the vehicles. The children were told they were being taken “for a bath” and “for treatment.”

In reality, they were driven to the outskirts of the city and buried alive.

After the liberation of Yeysk, locals uncovered the mass grave. The report from April 15, 1943, describes: “The scene was horrific — the children lay haphazardly, many still embracing each other, some clutching their crutches. There were no bullet wounds or skull fractures. Everything confirmed that the children had been buried alive.”
