After my discussion with Larry Johnson last week, which I posted here on theduran.locals, I wrote to both Alexander and Alex to explain the following which I have decided to share with you all too.

I did some more research on the Tomahawk BGM-109 A, as well as most of its variants and wanted to explain to you that Tomahawks are no longer nuclear capable if they are the ground based versions which have been discussed at length by the Duran, as well as many other media outlets.

First we should not forget that these systems are well over 50 years old and however effective they still might be in the area of lesser developed countries the can be detected with the proper equipment if correctly applied.

According to my research the Tactical Land Attack Missile- Nuclear capable Ballistic Ground Missile (TLAM-N BGM-109 A ) was retired of all their nuclear warheads between 2010-13 by the US Navy under the Nuclear Posture Review in 2010.
The Army's (Mid Range Capability) MRC Land-based version was never built for nuclear adaption.

Which versions of the Tomahawks remain nuclear capable?

• None!
  According to some military sources, there may still be some which could allegedly be used in the SSBN's (Sub Surface Ballistic Nuclear) aka Tactical Nuclear powered & armed Submarines, and that they might still have them, however it is highly unlikely due to maintenance issues.

The ground-launched variant, the BGM-109G Gryphon (GLCM), was also nuclear-armed with a W84 warhead but was withdrawn from service in 1991 to comply with the INF Treaty.

The current Block IV and Block V Tomahawk missiles are conventionally armed warheads - only, with no nuclear capability!

While Russia's nuclear doctrine states it could use nuclear weapons if Ukraine uses Western non-nuclear rockets like Tomahawks, the Tomahawks supplied to Ukraine are conventional and not nuclear-capable.

I write this, because there is far too much emphasis and rhetorical heating going on from all sides, concerning this BGM and to reinstate the nuclear capabilities of these weapons s would not go unnoticed.
