The big topic is the imminent fall of Pokrovsk and Ukraine's growing military crisis. The media in the West are falling silent about it and about the war generally, which in a sense shows how critical the situation has become.

There is also the ongoing collapse of the arms control regime laboriously set up after painstaking negotiations by the US and the USSR during the Cold War. It staggers me how little attention this is getting.

Meanwhile Russia is introducing wholly new weapons systems and promising others in what is rapidly becoming a nuclear arms race in which it is setting a cracking pace. There is also minimal discussion about this in the West, and no discussion at all of the revolutionary implications, civilian as well as well military, of the technological breakthroughs the Russians have achieved.
