Yes, Ahmed al-Sharaa is the same individual as Abu Mohammad al-Julani, the former leader of Jabhat al-Nusra (al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate) who later rebranded as HTS head. He initially coordinated with ISIS precursors but split allegiance to al-Qaeda's Zawahiri, rejecting ISIS control. ISIS wasn't created by intelligence agencies; it evolved from al-Qaeda in Iraq's remnants amid Iraq's post-invasion chaos and Syrian civil war power vacuums, per historical records.

There was a terrorist in The White House today. The worst part is that he didn't have to breach security to get there: he was invited. Here he is, Syria's President and former Isis operative Al Julani, now known as Ahmed Al-Sharaa.
