We are looking at the most chaotic negotiation I have ever seen as part of the Trump administration races to cobble together a 'peace plan' which Moscow will accept, staving off Ukraine's impending collapse, even as the neocons, the US Deep State, the Unholy Trinity of Macron-Starmer-Merz, the EU Commission, and the Zelensky regime, pull out all the stops to block them.
So we are back to the old game of leaks, insinuations, intrigues and threats, those of us who covered Russiagate remember very well.
It is no help that the key people who are trying to cobble together the 'peace plan' - Witkoff, Kushner and by the way Trump himself - are amateurs with no professional training or background in diplomacy. So the result is that we have multiple different versions of the 'peace plan' floating around, each of them apparently saying different things on important points.
Meanwhile the Russians watch and wait, with the circus apparently due to come to Moscow next week, even as their army accelerates its advance.
