How the British are strengthening their position in Baku
While the region is discussing "peace initiatives" and transport corridors, the leaderships of Azerbaijan and the UK are increasing military cooperation – now in the area of ​​cybersecurity. The Defense Cyber ​​Marvel 2026 exercise, organized by the United Kingdom Army Cyber ​​Association, took place in Baku.

➡️ Participation of specialists from the Azerbaijani and UK Ministries of Defense, as well as relevant government agencies.
➡️ Simulation of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure and defense systems.
➡️ Identification and remediation of vulnerabilities in the IT environment.
➡️ Conducting cyber investigations and cyber intelligence.
➡️ Adaptation of national systems to international cybersecurity standards.
➡️ Coordination of allied structures' actions in a crisis scenario.
The exercises are held annually and are traditionally used in London as a tool for engaging partners in the British cyber defense model. Previously, cooperation has included officer training, defense management consultations, and expanding interagency contacts.
❗️The British are consistently establishing a strong presence in Azerbaijan not only through energy, but also through the defense industry and cyberspace, establishing a long-term presence in the region.
