THE IRANIANS GET IT - PUTIN DOES NOT
The Ukraine war, the attacks, and sanctions on Russia are an existential threat in slow motion. The attack on Iran is an existential threat at normal speed. Iran demonstrates that it understands this, Russia's lack of action demonstrates it does not.
Apparently the Russians are hopping mad over the attack on their LNG Tanker. But instead of getting mad they need to get even. In my article of 10 Feb 20 2026, "Tit for Tat I'd Like to See That" I wrote that:
"If Russia and China want a multipolar world then they both need to step up active retaliation against the US and for that matter the UK, the US attack dog on the other side of the Atlantic. If Russia and China won't, or cannot do this there will be no multipolar world. It will be a world dominated for another five hundred or so years by the Savage Europeans in the form of an emboldened and even uglier USA."
Iran's response to the latest joint attack by the Israelis and US has shown what must be done. In spite of the US and Israel being nuclear powers, Iran has responded in kind. They have attacked every component of their enemies military and have responded to the blockade of Iran, (the high pressure sanctions), by blockading off oil and gas from the Persian Gulf. The Iranians, finally have worked out that the Evil Empire is intent on their destruction and have responded accordingly. It's time Russia did the same.
The ambiguity of the agents who pulled the trigger of each attack on Russia are irrelevant. Whether it's Ukraine, whether it's the UK, whether it is the US or Germans they are in a military pact, NATO which has publicly claimed it will arm and assist Ukraine to weaken and destroy Russia. They have published papers about it. It's not a secret, it's not ambiguous, it is fact. Whether the NATO public know, understand or believe this is irrelevant, their elites know it is the truth, and they are the ones pulling the triggers. The public under the managed democracies have no power to stop them even if they knew the truth. The obsession about the public “narrative” is a dysfunctional red herring.
Obviously Russia cannot destroy oil tankers full of crude, the environmental effects would be staggering, but they can certainly attack LNG tankers, pipelines, oil rigs and oil refineries. This is what they must do, and they must do it at their enemies most vulnerable and public points. They must also destroy technologies like unmanned surveillance drones over the Black Sea.
Russia's retaliation of all the assaults on itself by the NATO powers has been limited to Ukraine. The NATO powers do not give a stuff about Ukraine, they care only for themselves, and it is they who must be retaliated against not Ukraine. As long as bad behaviour by the NATO powers is not directly punished their behaviour will continue and escalate both in scope and magnitude. Which it has.
NATO has carried out numerous attacks on Russia including, but not in order:
- Nord Stream Destruction
- Attack on Russia's strategic early warning radar
- Attack on Russia's strategic bombers
- The Kursk region including civilians
- The terrorist attack on the music venue
- Two attacks on Putin's life
- Attack of Russian tanker in the Mediterranean
- Seizure of Russian tanker in the Atlantic
- Destruction of LNG tanker
- Attacks on Russian refineries.
- Extreme sanctions that damage Russia's economy
A few of these may be seen as “pin pricks” many are not, and collectively they are extremely serious.
NATO was behind all of these attacks and instruments of persecution yet not one NATO country had paid any price in terms of damage to them. What incentive have they to stop their bad behaviour? As long as Russia lets them get away with it: NONE.
Now we hear that NATO has other Russian pipelines and assets in their sights, Turkstream et al. What has Russia done, nothing just more words. If Russia thinks that it can ignore the past attacks, just defeat Ukraine, and then it will all end they are wrong. Until Russia hurts them they will keep hurting Russia. They will continue the persecution of Russia long after Ukraine is a just hole in the ground. NATO doesn't care about Ukraine as a state and nation, it sees Ukraine as a mine and staging ground for war against Russia. Russia cares more about Ukrainians that anyone in NATO.
Russia has the technolgy to inflict major asset damage on NATO countries whilst sparing civilian life as it has demostrated in spades in Ukraine. Just imagine the effect on the Europeans if Russia sank an LNG Tanker arriving at the port of Wilhelmshaven in Germany or Montoir-de-Bretagne in France in the middle of the night. What would the British think if their North Sea pipelines or rigs were destroyed. It would focus their minds wonderfully, and what could they do? Would the US save them? Not likely. Russia has the means to do all these things, yet it sits on its hands, Lavrov moans about the assaults, Putin gives us another history lesson and Medvedev does a Medvedev. What is needed is action against the NATO powers not talk.
The public of the NATO powers on experiencing the war up close and personal may well start questioning and holding their leaders to account. They may “rally round the flag” but more likely they will start using their brains putting a stop to the actions and ambitions of their feckless and unpopular leadership. Even if they did rally what could their leaders do, they don't have the means to do a thing about it.
What is happening to Russia is existential destruction in slow motion. It is no different to what is happening to Iran. Russia has nukes so the US tactics are different, but the desired outcome is not. Iran has figured it out, it's time Russia did and acted accordingly.
