From this helium they were dependent:
South Korea-64.7 % of total Helium imports come from Qatar. The Samsung and SK Hynix manufacturing plants are under time pressure.
Taiwan-TSMC, which produces 18 % of the world's chips.
Japan – an important center of production of chips and magnetic resonance devices.
Singapore-the regional center of the semiconductor industry. High dependence on helium from Qatar.
India imports helium for thousands of MRI machines
Germany-the headquarters of Linde, one of the largest industrial gas companies. Helium prices on the spot market increased by 100 %. Linde and Air Liquide are cutting supplies.
U.S. stocks of helium have been dwindling for years. Chip production remains under threat. HP, Dell and Lenovo warn of price increases of 15-20 %.
UK-NHS hospitals with MRI machines are reporting supply problems. They don't have their own production.
France-headquarters of Air Liquide, but without its own new production, primarily distribution.
China-needs helium for chips and MRI.
Australia – one of the few alternative suppliers. However, production is not enough to compensate for the outage of Qatar.
