Any Homeowner or farmer, formerly or othwise, will tell you "fences are a pain in the ass, can't even keep the cows in, the wolves out or your neighbors at bay".
Given time they will always get old, fall appart and let you down. You will frustratingly spend valuable effort, day after day, only to maintain an illusion of .... ? Self Preservation, Protection and ? Prevention
A look at histories failed and failing fences:
The maginot line , the iron curtain, China's claims on spratley, the Great Wall of China, Putin's endless Red Lines. All the while China, Russia and BRICS continue hurling smug useless self rightious comments, while relying and sitting on the fence of Nuclear Deterrent
FENCES CAN'T KEEP THE COWS IN OR THE WOLVES OUT
America,Europe and Nato don't have fences cause they don't need them. They reliably continue to Offend and De - fence their weakest and cowardly adversaries as they move to the beating drums of hegemony
Strategically; Perhaps and Perchance, China, Russia and BRICS, ought to consider the consequences of relying on Words, Promices, Diplomacy, the UN, endless whimperings, while their adversaries are kicking their fences down
Tactically: Perhaps, time has come to consider getting off thier collelctive Asses, and do something
