Strikes target Israeli vessel, US command center in Dubai
According to the statement, the first operation involved a ballistic missile strike against an Israeli-linked container ship identified as Haiphong Express in the central waters of the Gulf. The IRGC confirmed a direct hit to the vessel.
In a second, combined operation, IRGC naval units reportedly targeted groupings of US Marines stationed along the coast of the United Arab Emirates. The statement said the US troops were operating outside bases and attempting to conceal their presence in civilian areas, but were struck by one-way attack drones.
The Iranian Mehr News Agency, citing the IRGC-N, reported that a location targeted by the navy in the UAE housed 200 American troops, including commanders and officers. The news agency said that US troops can no longer safely deploy in bases and that their hideouts are now also threatened.
According to the news agency, the hideout is located near the al-Minhad Air Base in Dubai and was located by Iranian intelligence and subsequently destroyed in wave 88, via tactical missiles.
The IRGC also announced the destruction of an anti-drone system belonging to the US Fifth Fleet near Manama Airport in Bahrain. The system, described as a “HAWK” platform, likely in reference to an improved MIM-23 HAWK system, was reportedly hit by loitering munitions.
In a fourth strike, two early warning radar systems at the US military’s Jaber Al-Ahmad base in Kuwait were targeted and hit by drones, according to the statement.
