We are at a tipping point in Global Affairs, with the continued standoff between the US and Iran, and with the Russians now resolved to begin a major air offensive against Kiev, on a scale we have not seen before.

For the record, in my view the air offensive against Kiev is intended as preparations for a major ground offensive against Kiev, for which the Russians have now begun long term preparations. The Ukrainians for their part have apparently now started building fortifications around Kiev (and btw Odessa) which speaks for itself.

Meanwhile, a reality the West rigidly refuses to acknowledge, the Russian Offensive in Zaporozhzye region is gaining momentum, whilst the battle of Konstantinovka - a battle the West chooses to ignore - is approaching its end, with Reuters slipping out an admission that Konstantinovka's fall would open the way for the fall of Donbass.

So an unstable stalemate in the Gulf, and a dynamic and increasingly dangerous situation in Ukraine.

Meanwhile in the UK politics continues as normal with Tony Blair publishing a stinging rebuke of Starmer, which is of also startling vacuity, and which proves that like the Bourbons, he had learnt nothing and forgotten nothing.
