The news right now seems to be (note "seems" ) that the former United States and Iran have allegedly agreed in principle to a "deal", the exact framework of which is widely disputed in the media. And that allegation is according to the ever-suspect Pakistanis (see article) a country that has jailed one of the few honest [read: semi-honest] politicians ever present in Pakistan's grim history.

A major sticking point of the Memorandum of Understanding (only good for sixty days) seems to be whether Israel will cooperate with a leaked point of the agreement, where Israel must cease its aggression in Lebanon.
In light of that point - ie halting its operation in Lebanon -- Israel has ironically claimed that, "Israel is not a vassal state of the US". .. Which is of course ludicrous, when the position is quite the opposite. That is, where militant extremist Jewish "State" allied billionaires + wealthy evangelical Zionists, factually own the US political system.
Bottom line, Israel has said that Israel may bomb and kill Iranians whenever and wherever it chooses to do so, and assassinate Iran's leadership whenever and however it gets a warm schmaltzy yearning to do so. Especially since political assassination is a matter of Jewish "state" National Policy.
In today's (June 12) "leaked call" details (leaked by Israeli "state" media) Trump reportedly agreed with Netanyahu that Israel can do whatever the F the Bullshit State wants to do. (alleged language) And, rumour is that Trump offered some side grift to Netanyahu. For example the US will arrange with South Africa to put a hold on South Africa's ICJ genocide case vs "Israel" for 36 months, which is still in the evidentiary phase.
Plus, there are many highly criminalized "deals" between the former United States and Israel, some involving illegal weapons sales and distribution. Allegedly, Trump offered Netanyahu some tasty morsels there too. ("The nastier the better..." )
Unbelievably, according to this "framework" of the MOU, Iran/Oman will remain in control in the Strait of Hormuz and the US will skedaddle. However, Iran will de-restrict passage for most vessels, mainly oil and phosphate tankers. That seems strange, since this will benefit India and China most of all. But no doubt China is pressuring Iran too.
Now, the elephant in the room, of course, is precisely how Iran treats all of the above. Since the "deal" is essentially an MOU, it will be quite easy for any party to agree, and then bail later on for any reason. Unreliable sources state that there is internal pressure inside Iran, from unknown sources, to accommodate the United States.
One conclusion is that Iran may (perhaps unwisely) see an agreement with the former United States -- that includes a stipulation about ending Israeli aggression in Lebanon - as a means to split the US from Israel. Since the United States is effectively owned by Israel (and its operators on Wall Street) personally I don't see how that's possible.
Even so, Iran may calculate that with such an US MOU, if Israel continues to attack Lebanon, Iran will be fully justified in retaliating versus Israel. .. and forcefully, without fear of reprisal by the US. Just a hunch too (based on my own personal knowledge of Iran and its people) that the Iran leadership may see this as a unique opportunity to quit the conflict, while Iran is ahead, and call it a "win".
Just to clarify, Iran can only call this a "win" if Iran negotiates a favorable MOU (only lasts for sixty days) which leaves nukes off the table; leaves Iran /Oman in control of the Strait; and causes the failed/former US to substantially leave the region.
IF all the above is true, that becomes a nightmare scenario for Israel. That's because Israel must then face Iran on its own, regarding the deadly aggression that the Jewish "state" is so well known (and notorious) for.
Bottom bottom line is that neither the US or Israel may be trusted under any circumstance... as the Bad Faith States and the Abomination Nation of the "free world" are particularly known for. Seemingly Iran should string the US along going forward for as long as possible. And if this "MOU" fails, no doubt there will be reptilian blubber flung with epic "fury" and "rage" all over Truth Social... :)
