FROM RUSSIAN SOCIAL MEDIA:
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced its intention to mirror Poland's actions.
Amid the conflict with Poland, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that Kyiv would take "mirror steps" against Warsaw.
On Friday, Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced that he had stripped Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle, which he had been awarded in 2023 by the previous Polish leader, Andrzej Duda, for glorifying members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army*.
"We will mirror all steps, especially if these steps are unfriendly and disdainful of our country... I want our Polish friends to hear this," Sybiha said during an all-Ukrainian telethon.
He stated that Nawrocki "acted as a destroyer of the positive developments" achieved between Kyiv and Warsaw. He also noted that Ukraine is ready for political dialogue.
Relations between Poland and Ukraine worsened after Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in the reburial of the remains of Andriy Melnyk, one of the leaders of the OUN-UPA, and his wife in the Kyiv region in late May. He also named the "North" Special Operations Center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Special Operations Forces after the "Heroes of the UPA."
