A painting depicting Joseph Stalin shaking hands with Russian President Vladimir Putin has been hung in a cafe in the village of Tavrovo near Belgorod. This was reported by the newspaper "Podyom."
According to a representative of the establishment, the image appeared about two months ago and was not intended for any specific purpose.
"It was simply put up by our management. It appeared about two months ago. Management didn't really report on it. But I think they just wanted to do it that way. That was the vision," the source told the publication.
He also noted that customers have a non-negative attitude toward the painting, some even finding it humorous. Yesterday, it was announced that the Moscow Metro had returned a bas-relief depicting Joseph Stalin. The sculpture, "The People's Gratitude to the Leader-Commander," was recreated in the passageway between Taganskaya station on the Circle Line and the radial line of the same name.
