Venezuelan Acting President Rodriguez’s First 200 Days Bring Economic Gains and Political Reconciliation

Public policies have achieved concrete results in citizens’ well-being and the country’s positioning in international markets.
On Tuesday, the Venezuelan Communication Ministry published a report on the first 200 days of Acting President Delcy Rodriguez’s administration.
During that period, the most significant public policy achievements were related to the implementation of the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence and the recovery of the country’s economic stability.
Since January, the Venezuelan government has achieved concrete results in citizens’ well-being, domestic peace, and the country’s positioning in the international market.
Political Reconciliation, Minimum Wage and Social Protection
In the political and institutional sphere, the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence promoted civic dialogue and benefited 8,084 people.
The Venezuelan government increased the comprehensive minimum income by 50%, raising it from US$160 to US$240, calculated at the Central Bank’s exchange rate. Pensions increased by 40%, rising from US$50 to US$70 per month.
The Great Mission Return to the Homeland enabled the return of more than 5,000 Venezuelans. Commercial air connections with the United States were restored after seven years, and Venezuela rejoined the global payments system.
Economic Growth, Oil, and International Partnerships
Gross domestic product grew by 6% during the first six months of the year, marking 19 consecutive quarters of economic growth. Oil production posted sustained growth, increasing from 942,000 to 1,203,000 barrels per day in June.
Venezuela’s reintegration into the global energy market is based on strengthening diplomatic relations with countries such as India and on strategic agreements with international companies including Repsol, ENI, BP, and Chevron. More than 120 international companies are currently investing in Venezuela.
The Venezuelan government completed more than 8,200 infrastructure projects and added 120 megawatts to the national electrical system.
In terms of food sovereignty, supplies from domestic production reached 99%, guaranteeing families’ access to essential products.
Declining Crime and Emergency Response
Public safety indicators show a reduction in the homicide rate, which fell from 3 to 1.3 per 100,000 inhabitants, along with the deployment of Peace Quadrants across 70% of the country’s territory.
Venezuelan security forces dismantled criminal organizations and neutralized criminal Hector Guerrero, also known as “Niño Guerrero.”
In response to the June earthquakes, the Venezuelan government established 107 temporary camps, providing comprehensive assistance to more than 23,000 affected people. More than US$346 million was recovered for reconstruction efforts, and 200 homes were delivered to affected families in Caracas.
Health Infrastructure, Education Coverage, and International Recognition
As part of the 2026 Health and Life Plan, the public health network guarantees free care through 176 dialysis units operating nationwide.
Authorities have strengthened health facilities in the states of Tachira and Nueva Esparta with investments and trained personnel, as well as the Nephrology Service at the University Hospital of Caracas, which has the capacity to provide more than 5,000 hemodialysis sessions per month.
School enrollment rose to more than 97%, and daily meals are guaranteed for more than 2 million children through the school feeding program.
The implementation of these policies is being monitored through evaluation mechanisms designed to measure their direct impact, including those operating with the participation of United Nations agencies.
