This site has a particular bias, but I listen to others too. Glen Deisen, Patrick Landcaster, John Miershimer, and the list is increasing as more people come to the point of view that the other side of the bias is making less sense. This is my take on what has happened:
Russia to Ukraine: We will not allow you to join a military alliance that is hostile to Russia because you are our neighbor and we share thousands of kilometers of boarder with you, our languages are very similar, and we have a shared culture and history. NATO membership has already migrated East when you promised not to do that.
The West (Biden): We never promised to expand NATO in writing! How dare you dictate to us what military alliances we can coerce Ukraine to join!
Ukraine (installed by the west and accepting a large sum of money): What he said.
The West/Biden (To Russia): FUCK YOU! We are... sorry Ukraine are... is going to supress the Russian culture, persecute Russian speakers and we are going to supply long range missiles to Ukraine, and shoot them into your country and conduct terrorist actions .
Russia: Please don't do that. We have a battle hardened army, hypersonic missiles that is immune to patriot defense and nuclear weapons we have our own fuel, and we have the ability to destroy you.
The West/Biden: Right - Regime Change Russia!
Russia invades Ukraine. Ukraine runs counter offensive that fails badly because Russia prepared with land mines and the Russian people were motivated by what they consider an existential threat.
The West/Biden: Okay, now we want a ceasefire, because you are winning, and we need to rearm and sort out logistics. You MUST ceasefire in order for us to do this! If you cease fire, we will hold peace talks (without inviting you) and present you with terms that state you lost and you must capitulate"
Russia: After being betrayed in a similar way with Minsk1 and 2 agreements "uuum, well we are happy to talk, but we are not going to cease fire until we have an agreement in place"
The West (To the rest of the world): See, Russia is run by a dictator - PUTIN, and he just is a crazy man who wants war. We will not ever talk to him. We need some other guy in power who is on our payroll, you know, like we did in Iraq.
Trump: I will end the Ukraine war in 24 hours.
American people: Yes Please. Please do this. we will vote for you. We don't want war.
Trump (now in power): Meets with Putin in Alaska and agrees to work on terms that take Russia's security in consideration. American people are happy, sensibile people are happy. Trump then talks to Europeans, and we hear no more of this agreement, but Trump goes ahead with MORE long range strikes into Russia, Tries to assasinate Putin and asks Zelenski to hit Moscow with long range missiles, promising to supply him with nuclear capable Tomahawk missiles.
Then, at the behest of israel, murders the Iranian leadership along with civilians including a school full of young girls. "Peace thru strength!"
Iran: "We saw what you did in Russia, and you have been untrustworthy for half a century. We were ready" Iran sends missiles into American bases, and effectively and precisely hits CIA targets in the middle east. Iran blocks the Hormuz straight and threatens to block the read sea, effectively cutting the world off from oil.
Trump: "Oh Fuck! Bibi, you said they would just fall over...." To the Americans "Who said this would be a quick war? Not me. I always said it was going to take weeks... um months.... um a couple of years. It is just an excursion for a couple of years"
American People: I completely forget what this guy said a couple of weeks back just before we made him president.
Trump runs out of weapons - to Iran: "Okay okay, we will sign an understanding that says Israel will stop murdering people in Lebanon. Stop beating us up Iran"
Trump to Bibbi, "Could you stop killing people in Lebanon please"
Bibbi: "Fuck you, I will kill as many Palastines and Lebanise as I please. women, children whatever. It says in the Torah that we are the chosen ones. Love thy neighbor means love another Jew"
Trump tries to get ships thru Hormuz anyway, and Iran shoots drones at them. Trump to Iran: "You unsophisticated heathen scum. We will end you all..... um please can we have a cease fire? we need to rearm in the region"
Iran: "......"
The West to China and India: You can't buy cheap Russian oil or gas because it is interfering with our project to break Russia's economy, and force a regime change by making Russian people poor, miserable, starving, sick, dying.
China (In mandarin): We need Russian and Iraniain fuel for our economy, and have no where else to buy the fuel. If we don't buy fuel, many people will become unemployed, lose their houses or die. Just like VolksWagen, companies will go bankrupt, or move to countries that can buy Russian oil.
West: (To China and India) How dare you question our authority! (To Russia: You can only sell your oil for $45 a barrel, even tho it is currently trading for $100 a barrel, and you must sell coffee to us for 5c a cup
Everyone Else in the World: These guys are nuts.
