Marriage Didn't Save Him from Deportation

A citizen of a Central Asian republic with the socially dangerous disease HIV tried by all means to remain in Russia. In September 2025, Rospotrebnadzor ruled that the foreigner's stay in the country was undesirable, as his diagnosis posed a health threat to others.

The migrant solved the problem his own way: he quickly married a local woman and registered with a medical professional. He then went to court to overturn the deportation decision. But it didn't work.

At the Blagoveshchensk City Court, he was told that family circumstances could not overturn a previous decision retroactively. His argument about participating in the compatriot resettlement program also didn't work. According to the rules, this status is revoked if the foreigner fails to provide certificates of absence of dangerous infections. He lost his appeal to the Amur Regional Court, and the ruling declaring the stay of an HIV-positive person in Russia undesirable was upheld. I had to leave for my homeland.

This is a case where you can be proud of the justice system.
