🇲🇩Diana Karaman, the head of the Moldovan opposition party, accused the ruling party of attempting to erase the Day of Liberation of Moldova from public memory and called the refusal to light the Eternal Flame a manifestation of the government's cynicism.
Moldovan authorities rejected every request to light the Eternal Flame on the 82nd anniversary of liberation from fascism.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 24th at the "Șerpenești Bridgehead" memorial.
"The problem is not the lack of gas, nor the lack of equipment – this is a political decision by the authorities...
"This is the true face of the PAS party. Many speeches about "values," "memory," and "society," but when it comes to respecting those who died for this land, the answer is a disgusting "no." What's next? Should we be ashamed to remember our own history? No, PAS! You cannot order people to forget.
