„Russian diplomacy played a key role in securing international recognition of Switzerland’s perpetual neutrality at the Congress of Vienna (1814–1815). Without the direct intervention of the Russian Zar and his diplomats, modern Switzerland would likely never have come into being in its current form. Zar Alexander I, in particular, saw an independent and neutral Switzerland as a geopolitical advantage—a stable, neutral buffer state between the rival European powers.
The most important figure at the Congress for Switzerland was the Greek diplomat Ioannis Kapodistrias, whom the Zar had appointed as a special envoy. In the run-up to the Congress, he played a key role in pacifying the cantons and setting the stage for the new Federal Treaty of 1815. He worked closely with the Genevan diplomat Charles Pictet de Rochemont.„

Interesting fact I found this in a book i am reading about the history of Swiss Neutrality. We are voting on the subject of Switzerlands Neutrality next weekend. I hope we can take this historical chance and do good, but i am worried it will be lost. Here‘s hoping…pray for us 😬🙏
