Six Iranian Scientists from Royan Institute Make It into Global Top 2% List

October, 13, 2026 - 13:09

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Six Iranian scientists affiliated with the Royan Institute earned places on the latest World’s Top 2% Scientists list, which evaluates researchers worldwide based on citation data and indicators of scientific impact.

The researchers are affiliated with the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR), and their inclusion marks an increase from five Royan Institute researchers recognized in the previous edition, according to the Institute’s Public Relations and International Affairs Office.

The six researchers are Dr. Hossein Baharvand, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Nasr-Esfahani, Dr. Mohammad Reza Baghban Islami, Dr. Reza Omrani-Samani, Dr. Masoud Vosough, and Dr. Ashraf Moini.

The World’s Top 2% Scientists list assesses researchers across scientific disciplines and subfields using citation-based indicators and other measures of research performance, including citation counts, the Hirsch index (h-index), and the composite C-score.

Compiled using data from the Scopus citation database in collaboration with Stanford University and published by Elsevier, the assessment is widely used to evaluate the scientific impact of researchers and their contributions to their respective fields.

Royan Institute’s representation on the list has remained consistent in recent years, with five researchers recognized in 2023, four in 2024, and five in 2025. The latest assessment raises that number to six, highlighting the Institute’s continued presence in international scientific rankings.

The recognition reflects the researchers’ contributions to scientific knowledge and biomedical research, while underscoring Royan Institute’s ongoing research activities and international scientific standing.

The Institute congratulated the six researchers and the wider Royan community, expressing hope for continued advances in scientific knowledge, impactful research, and the strengthening of Iran’s position in the global scientific community.

NO Alexander Mercouris Live Stream Tomorrow 14th October 2026

I am in Japan attending the conference in Kyoto to which I have been generously invited by the conference organiser, my good friend Pascal Lottaz.

Unfortunately that means that I cannot do a Live Stream tomorrow, or probably this week.

My big apologies to everyone.

I return to London on Monday and will not be travelling anywhere for the rest of the year. So I will be able to host our Live Stream next week - and all our Live Streams until the end of the year - as normal.

In passing, I have also obtained many interesting impressions of Japan, this fascinating and beautiful country, which I look forward to sharing with the Community on my return.

However I wanted to give you a "peace" of my mind concerning the "Piece" or piss, as Elensky calls it, as this thing fell to pieces before it even happened.

Coincidentally on the very SAME DAY this crap happened Saudi Arabia DROPPED the US Petrodollar as a buying currency and NO ONE absolutely NO ONE is talking about this fact anywhere !!!

Hope to see you all asap.
