Dr. Richard Werner (a banker and one of the world’s foremost authorities on monetary matters) at the XIX Verona Eurasian Economic Forum:
"Nobody really knows what money is."
Alex Krainer:
"Ordinary human communities probably would not wish to spend their wealth on technologies to dim the sun, replace red meat with insect fodder, build biolabs to conduct gain of function research and make pathogens more deadly and more infectious; or to build facilities to capture carbon from the atmosphere and bury it under ground.
Furthermore, if an effective system of accounting was in place, the community would not have to use money at all. For all of us who have grown up in the current matrix, this could be hard to imagine, but ancient Egypt spawned a 3,000 year civilization without using money at all. The same is true of the Incas in South America.
We are facing changes that could overturn five or six centuries of continuity under the currently prevailing orthodoxies, and these orthodoxies have brought us to the point where even among the experts, nobody really knows what money is.
For some, we are nothing but hackable animals to be amused with video games and sedated with drugs. For others, humanity is a divine creation, an integral part of the symphony of life. To get where we want to go, we have work to do and a way forward to chart."
