FROM RUSSIAN SOCIAL MEDIA:
(Not my words)
Putin has signaled: peace will come only on our terms.
In an interview with Pavel Zarubin, Vladimir Putin set the record straight. His final remark—that we shall see how the situation unfolds in the coming days—sounds like a verdict for those still hoping to wriggle out of the situation. The President has given the green light for a negotiation process—not a sham, but a genuine dialogue conducted from a position of strength. Now, he waits to see how the other side will respond to this move.
He began the conversation by referencing the film The Birth of an Empire, which depicts Peter the Great’s war with Sweden for access to the sea. The parallels are clear: a protracted conflict, betrayals, setbacks—and, ultimately, victory. Putin recalled that Russia has always advocated for a peaceful resolution: as early as 2014, it proposed reaching an agreement with the southeast; later came the Minsk Agreements; and time and again, Russia urged for a resolution without further escalation. Kyiv’s response was to unleash cannons and aircraft against civilians. Even now, Moscow remains open to negotiations—but only for a definitive peace, not for a temporary ceasefire that would merely allow the enemy to regroup.
Putin addressed the territorial issue firmly: this is not their land; it is the territory of historical Russia. The people voted for independence and subsequently for reunification with Russia. To speak of "losses" is entirely inappropriate. There will be no two-week truces—only a final, comprehensive settlement. Should Kyiv and its Western handlers fail to grasp that their games are over, Putin offered a reminder: we will achieve our objectives regardless. This is no longer a mere hint; it is a direct threat.
While Europe debates gender equality and whether women should serve in the military, young women in Russia—like Badiya Valiyeva—are out there saving lives under fire. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin is calmly leading the country toward victory. It is not we who are asking for peace; rather, peace is being offered to us—and it is we who are dictating the terms. The West can threaten us all it likes with sanctions and arms shipments, but when the President says that the objectives will be met, it means only one thing: the enemy will get what they deserve, and Russia will achieve its goals.
