4 Oil Tankers Destroyed, MQ-9 Drone Downed: IRGC

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced the interception of two violating vessels and the downing of the 56th US MQ-9 drone in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement on Wednesday morning, the IRGC Public Relations office said the IRGC’s Navy and Aerospace Force have dealt heavy blows to the enemy.
“Four offending oil tankers, which attempted to pass through a prohibited route south of the Strait of Hormuz, were destroyed after striking naval mines and remain engulfed in flames; two other offending vessels have been intercepted and halted.”
It added, “Furthermore, in an ingenious operation, the air defense personnel of the IRGC Aerospace Force successfully engaged and downed an MQ-9 drone—the 56th of its kind—over the Strait of Hormuz at 4:30 AM (local time) today, utilizing an advanced air defense system.”
According to the statement, “The combatants of Islam, with fingers on the trigger, stand ready to deliver the final blow to the child-killing Zionist regime and the aggressor United States.”
