Trump's deal with Russia on diesel fuel is stalling:
2 out of 3 tankers with Russian diesel for the United States have changed course.
"Donald Trump's attempt to bring Russian diesel fuel to the United States before the midterm elections seems to be starting to fail - the first 2 tankers, which were originally heading for American shores, suddenly changed course. A few weeks before the election, Trump signed an agreement with the Russian president on the purchase of diesel shipments and their delivery to the United States, hoping to lower prices and strengthen political support. However, this attempt, apparently, did not help the Republicans much.
The Russian tanker Talisman and tanker Leruo no longer list the Atlantic coast of the United States as their destination. On Monday, Leruo changed its signal to Brazil, and Talisman left the Atlantic Ocean for the Mediterranean Sea and is now off the coast of Algeria. It transmits an "awaiting orders" signal, which usually means that the cargo does not yet have a confirmed buyer or destination port. The third tanker with a Russian diesel engine apparently continues on its way towards the United States, but also sends a signal "awaiting orders." Its owner had previously said that the vessel was "following orders, as the port of unloading has not yet been confirmed."
