💬 The Western fake news media continue to distort the state of affairs surrounding the grain deal.

Leading French publications such as Le Figaro ( https://www.lefigaro.fr/flash-eco/les-cereales-ukrainiennes-vont-aux-pays-de-l-ue-pas-aux-pays-pauvres-accuse-poutine-20220907 ), L'Express ( https://www.lexpress.fr/actualite/monde/guerre-en-ukraine-ou-sont-vraiment-exportees-les-cereales-ukrainiennes_2179815.html ) and Sud Ouest ( https://www.sudouest.fr/international/europe/ukraine/poutine-accuse-l-ue-d-accaparer-les-cereales-ukrainiennes-au-detriment-des-pays-pauvres-12191923.php ), as well as the BFMTV ( https://www.bfmtv.com/economie/international/poutine-accuse-les-pays-europeens-de-s-accaparer-les-cereales-ukrainiennes-au-detriment-des-pays-pauvres_AD-202209070456.html ) channel, are trying particularly hard in this regard. Citing AFP, they circulated misleading data about the implementation of the agreements. Thus, based on the information from the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC), 36 percent of the grain exported from Ukraine allegedly went to Europe and 17 percent was shipped to Africa.

This might sound convincing to an onlooker. In fact, though, the French media cited very general and incomplete information in an attempt to dismiss at all costs what our country’s leaders had to say about the latest hoax staged by Western countries, which are the main recipients of food exports from Ukraine. They intentionally obscure the fact that only ... two ships went to Djibouti and Yemen, which are heavily impacted by food shortages (data ( https://www.un.org/en/black-sea-grain-initiative/vessel-movements ) provided by the UN WFP) which – lo and behold – make up only 3 percent of the grain that left the Ukrainian ports.

But following the old colonial habit of “worrying” about the African countries, the French media had, of course, other things to worry about than the “details” of the deal. A firehose of lies and disinformation.
