We are now on the brink of Russia's Victory Day celebrations (the West celebrates Victory the day before) and general violence is intensifying.

We are now on the brink of a war between two nuclear powers - India and Pakistan - Ukraine is pulling out all the stops to launch massive drone attacks across Russia, and they are trying to break into Kursk region again, and it looks as if the Iran negotiations are at deadlock and we are again drifting into a US/Israel war against Iran.

As for the Trump administration, I get the sense that all the initial momentum of the first weeks has drained away. We now hear practically nothing about DOGE, the minerals deal is a typical US bureaucratic document, the US looks like it is going to water down its tariffs against China, and all diplomatic initiatives over Ukraine, Gaza, Iran etc are in deadlock and look like they are being quietly abandoned.

My husband's grandfather was from Carlsbad Germany now Karlovy Vary in the Czech republic. He was forced to join the German army and was sent off to Russia. Considering how many German soldiers died in Russia he was one of the fortunate few to come back alive. While there he spoke to his family about his time there and how desperately hungry the Russians were. He would share what little bit he had with the children he said...I had no choice they had nothing.

I think the Germans are still like my husband's grandfather. They just need to find the courage to take their country back.
